British slang.  First known use of crackpot, 1883. “mentally unbalanced person,” 1898, probably from crack (v.) + pot (n.1) in a slang sense of “head.” Compare crack-brain “crazy fellow” (late 16c.).

Serendipity (noun) Origin: English | ser·en·dip·i·ty  Finding something good without looking for it.

Just this morning, walking in my new ‘hood I came across an art festival. Very serendipitous. A lot of amazing finds! To think i was only out for a cuppa joe!  Interesting art, good conversations all started by the serendipitous choices I have recently made.  Never made it to coffee, but found some great jewelry, art, furniture, and had some random conversations ranging from artistic stylings and color choices to Memorial Day meanings and the sacrifices people have made throughout history in a variety of different ways.  I love unexpected surprises!

I have visited this theme previously but here is a new word and so here we go again.  I will admit that I have done some pretty daring things in my life.  Some call them idiotic things and for sure, sometimes I feel that I might have bit off more than I could chew.  Some say I am lucky to be alive to even talk about living life to the extreme.

Collywobbles

Collywobbles. This refers to a weird feeling in your stomach or an overall bellyache. It is derived from the Latin phrase cholera morbus, meaning it came from the disease we all know as cholera. This is a word many people still use especially older individuals, and the background is quite dark! Many don’t realize the dark background much like many being unaware of the origins of “Ring around the Rosie.”

I have had the collywobbles all day long.  As a matter of fact, I have had the collywobbles for about 3 weeks.  I’m not sick.  I’m just sick of technology!! We are so overloaded with technology and passwords and computer generated automated answers and no one even answering after hours.  I’m sick of hackers and fraudsters having more access to my accounts than I have!!!

I love to hike and travel and walk towards the unknown.  Walking allows you to really take your time and observe the life and things around you.  I like walking with people and equally, walking alone.

So many footsteps later and I’m still walking and preferring to walk.  However, I have finally arrived back in the U.S. where I will be posted for the next two years and I actually forgot how difficult it can be to walk to things during your normal daily life.  Like restocking your food supply, picking out furniture, public transportation with an area rug.  Anything that requires more than two light bags of things to carry can be complicated and painful.

My car is still in transit and everything is close to where I live.  So I didn’t think walking would be an issue.   That is until I remembered how I shop.  Only 3 things needed today, easy peasy.  But wait.. wow.. i haven’t seen this in awhile.  25 items later… 20 minutes by foot later.. arms about to fall off later.. I broke down and bought a little red wagon.  Or as my sister likes to call it a foldable grocery cart.

I am dreaming of long hikes with only a backpack, or better yet.. just a water bottle.  No complaints though really.  I am still loving walking.  I will continue to walk.  I just have to become good friends with my newest and closest companion.. Why, hello Amazon..
