Easy to catch a silhouette

Shadow is the obstruction of light. Shadows appear to me to be of supreme importance in perspective, because, without them opaque and solid bodies will be ill defined; that which is contained within their outlines and their boundaries themselves will be ill-understood unless they are shown against a background of a different tone from themselves.

“Actually, I do happen to resemble a hallucination. Kindly note my silhouette in the moonlight.” The cat climbed into the shaft of moonlight and wanted to keep talking but was asked to be quiet. “Very well, I shall be silent,” he replied, “I shall be a silent hallucination.”

Just a little girl in a big, big world!

Just a little girl in a big, big world is something I have used to describe myself since joining the Navy in 1984.  I was naive enough to think that this was an original saying until someone asked me if I was trying to be like Marilyn Monroe.

“I am good, but not an angel. I do sin, but I am not the devil. I am pretty, but not beautiful. I have friends, but I am not the peacemaker. I am just a small girl in a big world trying to find someone to love.” – Marilyn Monroe

No, I’m not trying to be anything like her.  I do like her quote though so I’m keeping it.

I have traveled extensively on both the high side as well as the low side.  Only the people who have traveled with me really know what I’m talking about.  Here is my attempt at trying to share these travels past and present and many to come in the future with the people I love the most.

Another quote I feel might shed a little more light on who I am and how I got to this point in my life AND which I completely believe I took from someone smarter than myself  is:

“Questions motivations. Doubts words. Is killed daily by curiosity.”

Enjoy my travels.
